How is a Korean Medicine weight loss program operated step by step?

First, through consultation we diagnose your constitution and condition. We then take one of two main approaches: if you have a weak constitution, we focus on spleen deficiency (Pi Xu) to strengthen digestion; if you are active and have excess heat, we focus on resolving phlegm-fluid (Tan Yin) or blood stasis (Yu Xue). Then, we correct lifestyle habits and gradually adjust herbal medications to allow your body to adapt.
The program is broadly divided into three stages. The first stage is 'diagnosis and setting.' Here we use pulse diagnosis (maekjin) and tongue diagnosis (seoljin) to assess your current condition. For example, if you are frequently fatigued and have loose stools, we see this as spleen deficiency (biheo); if you feel bloated and have phlegm, it suggests phlegm-fluid (dameum). I learned from experience not to try to address everything at once, so now we tailor the approach conditionally. The second stage is 'active treatment and lifestyle management.' For spleen deficiency, we use herbs like Astragalus (hwanggi) and Atractylodes (baekchul) to tonify the spleen, while first regulating meal rhythm and sleep. For blood stasis (eohyeol), we use Angelica (danggu) and Cnidium (cheongung) and recommend light stretching. Importantly, we do not keep the same prescription continuously—since the body changes, the formula is adjusted every 2 to 4 weeks. The final stage is 'maintenance and feedback.' Rapid changes can trigger resistance, so we gradually reduce herbs and help lifestyle habits become ingrained. For instance, starting with three doses per day, then two, then one, while guiding you to self-regulate diet and exercise. While we legally cannot promise a specific weight loss amount, following the process will help you feel lighter and more balanced.
