What should I prepare to receive a non-face-to-face diet herbal medicine prescription from a clinic in Geomdan?

For a non-face-to-face consultation, please prepare: your weight, height, and blood pressure readings from the last 3 months (home measurements are acceptable); a 3–5 day log of your diet, exercise, and sleep patterns; a list of all medications and supplements you are currently taking (photos are fine); and a note on any digestive issues like heartburn, constipation, or menstrual pain, as these are key for TKM diagnosis of metabolic balance.
Non-face-to-face care requires even more thorough preparation to avoid missteps. I learned this the hard way early in my telehealth practice — patients would call later saying the medicine made them feel bloated because I hadn't fully understood their habits. Diet herbal medicine in TKM isn't simply a 'weight loss pill'; it works by restoring metabolic balance. Constitutionally, obesity is often linked to Spleen deficiency (biheo) — where the spleen's digestive function slows down metabolism — and phlegm-fluid (dameum) accumulation, causing stubborn weight gain. So even remotely, accurate assessment is vital. Please prepare these four items: (1) Weight, height, and blood pressure — take them on an empty stomach in the morning for consistency; blood pressure is key for evaluating cardiovascular load. (2) A 3–5 day journal of meals, exercise, and sleep — patterns like skipping lunch then binge-eating at night change the prescription drastically. (3) A complete list of current medications and supplements — especially if you've used Western weight-loss drugs like Wegovy or Saxenda, as interactions matter; past diet drug experiences also guide our approach. (4) Digestive and elimination symptoms — TKM sees obesity as a spleen-stomach issue; heartburn, belching, constipation, diarrhea, or menstrual irregularities may indicate Spleen deficiency or blood stasis (eohyeol) from poor circulation. Writing them down prevents forgetting. With good preparation, a remote consultation can be even more focused than an in-person visit. If you send your materials beforehand, I can review them and use our appointment time to address the core issues directly.
