Is non-face-to-face (telemedicine) diet consultation available at a Korean medicine clinic in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province?

Yes, it is possible. However, for first-time visitors, an in-person consultation is required in principle. Looking at the pulse and tongue is necessary for accurate TKM constitution differentiation (辨證). If you have had an in-person consultation at our clinic within the last 6 months, non-face-to-face consultation and prescription are possible for follow-up management. Please contact us by phone or website for specific procedures.
I will explain cases where non-face-to-face consultation is possible and where it is not. ① First-time visitors: If you are receiving diet consultation at a Korean medicine clinic for the first time, an in-person visit is essential. In TKM, pulse diagnosis (脈診) and tongue diagnosis (舌診) are needed to directly identify constitutional factors such as spleen deficiency (脾虛), phlegm-fluid (痰飮), or blood stasis (瘀血). For example, 'spleen deficiency' is a condition where the spleen's function is weakened, causing edema and poor digestion, which is difficult to assess non-face-to-face. It is recommended to visit first for basic constitution and condition evaluation. ② Existing patients: If you have already had an in-person consultation at our clinic for constitution differentiation and initial prescription, follow-up management can be done non-face-to-face. For example, we can check via video call your digestive state, sleep changes, and edema level while taking herbal medicine, and adjust the prescription if needed. However, under medical law, a new prescription or significant dose adjustment may require another in-person visit. Non-face-to-face procedure proceeds as follows: 1. Schedule a non-face-to-face consultation via website or phone. 2. Fill out a brief health questionnaire (diet, sleep, bowel movements, etc.). 3. At the scheduled time, connect via video call – the Korean medicine doctor asks about your current condition and symptoms, and makes a judgment based on previous medical records. 4. Once the prescription is decided, the herbal medicine is prepared and shipped to you (shipping fee separate). Most importantly, while non-face-to-face is convenient, TKM diet therapy focuses on restoring the body's fundamental balance. Rather than rapid weight loss, it emphasizes tonifying spleen deficiency and eliminating phlegm-fluid, so initial in-person diagnosis is crucial. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Consultations are offered without burden.
