How does weight management for lower-body obesity differ from a general diet, and which is more effective?
Whole-body management and management of lower-body swelling or heaviness may assess different issues. Do not claim one is best for everyone; consider diet, activity, and health together.
Lower-body circumference or weight alone cannot reliably distinguish fat from swelling. While adjusting diet and activity, record both-leg changes, heaviness, and daily inconvenience; avoid methods promising local reduction.
Korean medicine may interpret swelling and heaviness as dam-eum (痰飮), circulatory discomfort as eohyeol (瘀血), and digestive or energy decline as piheo (脾虛). This does not presume circulatory disease or local fat loss.
Review goals, history, medicines, diet, sleep, activity, and swelling to make a sustainable plan. For persistent pain, swelling, or severe fatigue, assess the cause rather than simply eating less; consider adjuncts when appropriate.
