Q. How do other patients usually go through the process? I'm curious about their actual experiences and the typical workflow.

A.

Typically, you start with an initial in-person visit for a detailed consultation, followed by remote communication to adjust your herbal medicine according to your progress. Since every body is different, some focus on dietary management while others start by reducing edema; I prioritize a sustainable pace over extreme fasting to ensure your overall well-being.

📝 Detailed Answer

Many patients ask if simply taking the medicine is enough, but the mechanism of weight gain varies by individual. In Traditional Korean Medicine, we first determine if your condition is caused by 'Dam-eum' (痰飮, phlegm-fluid retention) leading to poor circulation, or 'Eo-hyeol' (瘀血, blood stasis) causing stagnation. For instance, those with 'Bi-heo' (脾虛, Spleen deficiency) and weak digestive functions may experience nausea if the herbal formula is too potent. Through my own clinical experience and study, I have learned that high-intensity medication is not always the correct answer. Therefore, we meticulously assess your constitution and vital energy during the first visit, and subsequently fine-tune the dosage and potency via remote consultations. Ultimately, dieting is the process of finding a 'speed that your body can accept.' Rather than following generic trends, it is crucial to identify where your body's energy flow is blocked and resolve it together. We will decide on the specific progression plan after checking your current physical condition during your visit.
