How does an 'eyelid diet' differ from a regular diet, and which method is better?

“Eyelid diet” is not a formal medical term. Distinguish local swelling from whole-body fat and assess causes, health, and sustainable methods rather than fasting or diuretic tea.

The phrase may refer online to reducing swelling around the eyes and may involve fasting or diuretic tea. Temporary water loss is not the same as fat loss, and excessive restriction can cause fatigue or nutritional imbalance.

Korean medicine may interpret swelling around the eyes through water-dampness (水濕) related to spleen or kidney deficiency (脾虛, 腎虛), with phlegm-fluid retention (痰飮) and blood stasis (瘀血) as additional perspectives. This does not establish a cause or guarantee treatment.

Whole-body fat management uses balanced food and activity while tracking weight and swelling. If swelling recurs or other symptoms appear, review history and medicines with a clinician and consider adjunctive care only after assessment.
