In what order is Korean-medicine acupuncture for weight management performed, and is it simply fat-loss acupuncture?
Acupuncture is planned after reviewing current symptoms and physical status, with points and goals chosen accordingly. It does not guarantee fat breakdown or weight loss in a specific area.
Care reviews weight change, eating, sleep, activity, pain, and medicines before deciding whether acupuncture is suitable. Points and session frequency vary with the goal and condition, and skin status is checked.
Korean medicine may interpret poor digestion and low energy as spleen qi deficiency (脾虛), swelling and heaviness as phlegm-fluid retention (痰飮), and circulation discomfort as blood stasis (瘀血). This does not mean fat is directly broken down.
After treatment, monitor bruising, pain, dizziness, and other reactions and adjust eating and activity. Tell the provider about pregnancy, bleeding risk, or anticoagulants, and ask about any abnormal reaction.
