What is the typical process for other patients? I'm curious about the general experience and steps involved.

Typically, we begin with a thorough physical assessment to evaluate your overall condition, followed by the formulation of a personalized herbal prescription tailored to your unique needs. While remote consultations are available, I strongly recommend an initial in-person visit. Since each individual's constitution and daily condition vary significantly, a face-to-face consultation is essential to fully understand your specific symptoms and needs.

Patients seeking weight loss generally fall into two categories: those with high motivation but physical limitations that lead to quick burnout, and those whose metabolic functions have significantly declined due to repeated dieting attempts. In Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM), this is often viewed as Spleen Deficiency (脾虛), a state where the Spleen fails to produce sufficient energy. For these individuals, aggressive fasting or potent medications can lead to extreme fatigue and dizziness. I have personally experienced how excessive dietary restriction can impair cognitive focus and overall well-being. Therefore, I do not focus solely on the number on the scale. My primary approach is to first clear 'Eohyeol' (瘀血, blood stasis or stagnant blood) and 'Dameum' (痰飮, phlegm-fluid retention or accumulated waste). Proper circulation must be restored first for herbal medicines to be truly effective. Every patient's journey is unique; some need to prioritize reducing edema, while others require urgent appetite control. This is why a meticulous diagnosis is critical. When you visit, we will examine your current physiological state together to find a sustainable and healthy path toward your goals.
