This condition occurs when pus fills the sinuses (air-filled cavities adjacent to the nose) due to bacterial infection. It is characterized by nasal congestion, yellow nasal discharge, facial pain, and headache. If it does not respond well to antibiotics, direct drainage of the pus through a drainage procedure is necessary.
