I've been eating chicken breast consistently for my diet, but why am I not losing weight and feeling so heavy?

It is less about 'what' you eat and more about 'how' you digest it. Consuming cold foods lowers digestive enzyme activity, hindering nutrient absorption and causing waste accumulation, which slows down your metabolism. For those with a constitutionally weak digestive system, a protein-heavy diet can be counterproductive, leading to stagnation and slower weight loss.

Many people strictly follow a chicken breast-centered diet for weight loss, only to find themselves feeling bloated and lethargic. The core issue here is often 'digestive capacity.' Biologically, digestive enzymes function most efficiently when the body maintains an optimal temperature. If you consume frozen or cold chicken breast, your gastric temperature drops, significantly impairing your ability to break down proteins. In Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM), this state is viewed as Spleen Deficiency (Bi-heo, 脾虛), where the Spleen's function is too weak to properly transport and transform nutrients. When food remains undigested, it creates metabolic waste known as Phlegm-Fluid (Dam-eum, 痰飮). This viscous waste obstructs the circulation of Qi and Blood, essentially stalling the metabolic processes necessary for weight loss. If this is further compounded by Blood Stasis (Eo-hyeol, 瘀血) due to poor circulation, the body feels even heavier and more sluggish. This demonstrates that simply restricting calories or focusing solely on protein is not the answer. It is crucial to first assess your digestive health and the flow of Qi to determine if your body can actually handle this specific dietary regimen.
