As an adult woman, can I diet simply by cutting calories, and how does a Korean-medicine clinic approach this?

Eating less is not always enough; first review whether energy use, nutrition, health, and recovery are adequate. Korean-medicine care may address imbalance as an adjunct without promising a fixed result.

Calorie reduction can change weight, but excessive fasting may cause fatigue, rebound appetite, and reduced activity. Review nutrition, sleep, activity, symptoms, menstrual health, conditions, and medicines.

Korean medicine may interpret retained fluid as phlegm-fluid retention (痰飮), low digestive and energy function as spleen qi deficiency (脾虛), and circulation discomfort as blood stasis (瘀血). These perspectives do not establish one cause or guarantee loss.

Set a sustainable meal, activity, and maintenance plan and adjust it from your response. If dizziness, marked fatigue, palpitations, or other warning signs occur, seek assessment rather than restricting further.
