How does a Korean medicine weight loss program work? Do I absolutely need to exercise, and what are the specific steps involved?

Instead of starving yourself or over-exercising, we first examine your body's 'engine state.' The process begins by clearing metabolic waste, known as Phlegm-fluid (Dameum), to lighten the body. Next, personalized herbal medicine boosts your metabolic rate and naturally reduces stomach capacity, allowing you to feel full with smaller portions. We then focus on establishing sustainable habits to prevent the yo-yo effect. Based on my experience, pushing yourself to exercise when your body isn't ready can often be counterproductive.

Weight loss can be a daunting journey. I recall a time when I overexerted myself at the gym after work, only to feel so dizzy it interfered with my practice the next day. At our clinic, we follow a four-stage 'Sustainable Weight Loss' protocol. First is Qi Replenishment and Diagnosis. In Traditional Korean Medicine, if you have Spleen Deficiency (Biheo), your body lacks the energy to burn fat and stubbornly holds onto it. We first ensure your body is physiologically ready to expend energy. Second is Waste Discharge and Circulation. If your system is clogged with metabolic waste like Phlegm-fluid (Dameum) or Blood Stasis (Eohyeol), weight loss stagnates regardless of activity levels. We use herbal medicine to clear these internal blockages first. Third is Metabolic Activation and Appetite Control. We prescribe herbal decoctions to raise your basal metabolic rate, allowing your body to burn energy more efficiently even at rest. This naturally conditions the stomach to feel satisfied with less food, reducing the stress of dieting. Finally, we focus on Habit Stabilization. True success is maintaining your weight after the program ends. We help your body adapt to its new 'set point.' Regarding exercise, there is no need to overexert yourself initially; light walks to aid circulation are sufficient. I will act as your 'pacemaker' to ensure you reach your goal safely.
