I'm planning to eat stir-fried chicken breast and vegetables regularly as part of my diet. From a Traditional Korean Medicine perspective, would you recommend this meal plan?

Stir-fried chicken breast and vegetables is an excellent choice as it provides high protein and fiber while being served as a 'warm meal.' However, relying on this exclusively may lead to Spleen Deficiency (Bi-heo) or binge eating due to monotony. We recommend minor adjustments based on your constitution to ensure a healthier and more sustainable weight loss journey.

In Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM), stir-fried chicken and vegetables is considered a 'warm food' (onsik), which is highly beneficial. Unlike raw vegetables that can cool the digestive system and obstruct the circulation of Qi and Blood, cooked meals alleviate the functional burden on the Spleen. This helps maintain satiety and effectively prevents the accumulation of 'Dam-eum' (metabolic waste or phlegm-fluid) within the body. However, eating the same meal every day can lead to 'Qi Stagnation' (Gi-che), where your internal energy becomes congested, potentially lowering your overall condition. Specifically, individuals with a 'Spleen Deficiency' (Bi-heo) constitution may find the dry texture of chicken breast difficult to digest, leading to abdominal bloating. The essence of a successful diet is sustainability. I recommend diversifying your protein sources with white fish or tofu to avoid stagnation. Additionally, since an overly low-fat diet can trigger hormonal imbalances, incorporating healthy fats like olive oil can be very beneficial. Always prioritize how comfortably your body digests the food over strict caloric restriction.
