Keto diets are very popular these days; as a TKM practitioner, would you recommend them?

I have personally experimented with various ketogenic approaches during the peak of the trend. Initially, it feels great as the body feels lighter. The primary advantage of a ketogenic diet is that it minimizes blood glucose fluctuations, which suppresses 'false hunger' and improves the efficiency of switching energy sources. However, this is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Specifically, patients with 'Bi-Heo' (脾虛), or Spleen Deficiency, who have poor digestive capacity, often struggle to process high-fat diets. In such cases, this can lead to the accumulation of 'Dam-eum' (痰飮)—metabolic waste products—resulting in a feeling of heaviness or dizziness. Furthermore, for those with significant 'Eo-hyeol' (瘀血), or blood stasis (stagnant blood), a sudden increase in fat intake may place an undue burden on blood circulation. It is crucial to first determine whether your body is physiologically prepared to utilize fat as its primary energy source before blindly increasing fat intake. Ultimately, it is less about 'which diet is superior' and more about 'what my body can currently tolerate.' If you wish to tailor your diet to your current condition, I recommend visiting the clinic first to assess your constitution and digestive state.
