What is the specific difference between simply fasting and using herbal medicine for weight loss?

Fasting and herbal-medicine weight loss differ in how they work and in the risks that need to be checked, so choose only after assessing your individual condition. Use your food records and test results to set a method that is not excessive.

Fasting changes weight by reducing intake, but going too far can lead to inadequate nutrition, loss of muscle mass, and binge eating. A prescription that includes herbal medicine is not a substitute for food or exercise; it should be considered as an adjunct after reviewing your medical history, medicines, and goals.

In care, we review your current eating pattern, body composition, sleep, and activity level to create a sustainable weight-loss plan. If warning signs such as dizziness, palpitations, or severe weakness occur, stop fasting and consult a clinician.

Even when setting a fasting schedule, check that fluid and nutrient intake are not becoming too low. When considering a prescription, ask about its ingredients and duration of use.
