During a weight-loss plateau, how should I choose between regular dietary control and a Korean-medicine diet?
Check intake, activity, missed records, sleep, stress, water changes, medicines, and health status before changing the plan. Do not assume a plateau means lack of willpower or treatment failure.
When weight stays unchanged, review actual portions, activity, omissions in the record, sleep, stress, and water variation. Energy needs can also change as weight falls, so a plateau alone does not explain its cause.
Korean medicine may interpret digestive and energy decline as spleen qi deficiency (脾虛), swelling and heaviness as phlegm-fluid retention (痰飮), and circulation discomfort as blood stasis (瘀血). This framework does not guarantee that herbal medicine will restart loss.
Review meals, feasible activity, conditions, medicines, digestion, sleep, and swelling and change what is adjustable. With faintness, severe fatigue, palpitations, or similar warning signs, seek assessment before restricting or exercising more.
