Does the diet approach differ according to Sasang constitutional type?
Sasang constitutional type is only a reference framework for choosing a weight-loss approach, and the same diet does not suit everyone. A plan should be adjusted by considering digestion, activity level, and current symptoms together.
Sasang constitutional types may be used to interpret energy use and digestive status differently, which can change the priority given to diet and exercise. However, weight-loss results cannot be predicted from constitutional type alone, and a diet cannot be prescribed solely on that basis.
For a Taeeum type, weight, edema, and activity level may be considered together while activities that support circulation are reviewed. For a Soyang type, heat sensations and appetite may be checked first; for a Soeum type, digestion and fatigue may be prioritized. Taeyang type is considered uncommon and requires separate judgment.
During care, the clinician checks constitutional classification along with food records, sleep, exercise, medications, and existing conditions. If excessive restriction has reduced your energy, the priority is to create a meal and activity plan suited to your current state rather than repeat the same method.
