I always regain weight after dieting. Is there a way to prevent it?
To reduce weight regain, first make an eating, activity, and sleep plan that can continue after losing weight rather than pursuing a large short-term loss. Set maintenance goals and review dates from the start.
After reaching your goal, do not suddenly increase portions. Keep regular meal intervals and protein and fiber intake. Reviewing strength training 2–3 times a week together with daily activity such as walking can help identify weight regain.
If you choose Korean-medicine care, adjust the maintenance plan after reviewing digestion, sleep, stress, existing conditions, and medicines—not weight alone. If binge eating or depressed mood is present, evaluating those symptoms takes priority over further weight loss.
When weight rises again, do not label it a failure. Identify what changed among food intake, activity, and sleep, and change one item at a time.
