How should a cheat day be handled from a Korean medicine clinic perspective?

A cheat day is not required; it is an option when severe restriction leads to repeated overeating. Do not fast the day before or over-restrict the next day; adjust while observing digestion and swelling.

If you set a cheat day, include desired food moderately within the usual meal rhythm rather than fasting completely beforehand or eating a large amount at once. If it repeatedly triggers binge eating, it may not fit the current plan.

Korean medicine may view weak digestion as Biheo and post-meal heaviness or swelling through Dameum. This approach observes which menus and portions cause discomfort rather than absolutely banning a food.

The next day, return to usual meals instead of stopping food as punishment. If stomach discomfort, edema, or urges to overeat continue, review meal intervals and restriction strength and adjust the personal plan in consultation.
